***Oct 2019 - The goal is Mount Kilimanjaro!!

So I’ve been on a pretty crazy hiking high right now after climbing Bukhansan Mountain/Baekundae Peak in Seoul, South Korea. My next goal is…

MOUNT KILIMANJARO, TANZANIA

MOUNT KILIMANJARO, TANZANIA

Though while climbing Baekundae Peak, my knees seriously hurt for 2 days straight. It was a tough to climbing hills around in Seoul after completing the hike. However, I think if I train enough in the next 3 months and to progressively do more hikes/cycling and more importantly to gain more experience hiking bigger mountains - I think I should be fine. I’ll have to post a training regiment in another post because I’ll have to look up some modifications since Ontario has not many big mountains or places to really big hikes.

Mount Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa and it stands 16,100 ft from its base and is about 19, 341 ft from sea level. I believe it’s the tallest free standing mountain in the world - meaning that it is not part of any mountain range. It’s actually composed of 3 volcanoes - Kibo (highest), Mawenzi, and Shira (lowest). Mawenzi and Shira are dormant volcanoes, but Kibo is dormant and may erupt at any time.

I’m currently looking at Mount Kilimanjaro Guide and there’s a looot of really good tips and information regarding people who are interested in climbing “Kili”. I’m seriously getting excited about it.

Anyways - that’s really it for now. I’ll be back to post a little bit later regarding about more information and what my “training” program will be in preparation for this hike.

Cheers!
